TEHRAN - Iran clashed with Slovenia in a crucial showdown of the at 2024 WPV Sitting Volleyball Final Qualifiers for Women, where the latter asserted their dominance early on.

The European side set the tone for a commanding performance throughout the match, and despite a spirited effort from Iran, Slovenia managed to close the match 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 26-24).

Slovenia’s relentless offence and solid defense proved too formidable for their Iranian opponents, as they secured their fourth consecutive win in the tournament and the early spot in the final.

Iran had defeated Japan 3-0 (25-7, 25-19, 25-6) and Thailand 3-0 (25-11, 25-3, 25-14) and lost to China 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-13) in their first three matches.

There is one remaining position to be determined.

The winners will qualify for Paralympics.
