Islamic Jihad leader: Palestinians will win the battle against Israel
TEHRAN – Ziyad Nakhalah, the secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), said on Saturday that the Palestinians will be the final winner of the war with Israel.
“I promise you that that we will be the victor of this battle and the resilience of the Palestinian people will serve as a model for the world,” Nakhaleh told a press conference in Tehran after a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
Israel unleased an unprecedented wide-scale war against the Gaza Strip after the Palestinian resistance front launched the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation against Israel on October 7, 2023. Despite six months of relentless war against Gazans that amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide the Israel regime has failed to achieve any of its goals.
Nakhaleh also described his meeting with Amir Abdollahian as important and praised Iran and its foreign minister for standing on the “side of the Palestinians and the resistance”.
The PIJ secretary general added, “The active diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran was very important in highlighting the position of the Palestinian resistance supporting it, and this was something that we had expected.”
Nakhaleh said Iran has been supporting the “Palestinian resistance” movements and “paid the costs” of this support and that is why “many sanctions have been imposed on Iran for defending the rights of Palestinians.”
He added it was not easy to continue the “auspicious al-Aqsa Storm” without the open support of Iran at all different levels through all these years.
At the end, the PIJ leader thanked the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, other top Iranian officials and the Iranian people for supporting the Palestinians in their struggle against the Israeli suppression and occupation.
Iranian FM lauds unity among Palestinian resistance groups
In his meeting with Nakhaleh on Saturday afternoon, Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian praised the important role of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and its resistance against the Israeli aggression.
Amir Abdollahian also characterized the unity among the Palestinian resistance groups, especially in Gaza, in the battle against Israeli invaders as one of the most valuable records in the history of the Palestinian nation.
It has been because of the unity between resistance groups and their heroic battle coupled with the “historic and exemplary resilience” of the Palestinian people that has dented “the enemy’s spirit”, and that despite many hardships and bitter events the Palestinian nation has achieved great victories in different political, legal, international areas as well as battlefield.
The foreign minister also said today the Palestinian nation is “more powerful than ever and is backed by the international community, but the Zionist regime is more isolated and hated than any other time.”
Amir Abdollahian went on to say that the world will undoubtedly witness greater victories by the Palestinian nation in the future.
The chief diplomat said the Zionist regime and its backers failed to cause any crack in the will and resistance of the Palestinian nation.
During the talks, Nakhaleh called the Zionist regime’s war against Gaza a “great test” for the entire world and said over the past six months that Israel unleashed a cruel war against Gaza the “real face of friends and enemies have become more visible to the Palestinian nation.”
He also said the resistance groups in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Syria have spared no efforts in backing the Palestinians and now the resistance front is in its best shape.
The PIJ chief also said, “The Palestinian nation is strong-willed, decisive, faithful and brave and will impose its will on the Zionist enemy and its backers and we believe that final victory over the Zionist enemy is near.”
