Iran welcomes China’s companies to partake in housing projects

TEHRAN – Iran’s Transport and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash has said the country welcomes Chinese companies’ presence in the government housing projects, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of a ceremony for the inauguration of 5,230 affordable housing units Pardis Town near capital Tehran, Bazrpash said: “We welcome the presence of the Chinese companies in the country's housing construction sector. The models proposed by the Ministry of Transport and Urban Development are cooperation in the form of investment and the introduction of fast construction technology for housing sector.”

Bazrpash handed over 5,230 housing units to the owners across in a ceremony held on Thursday.

The inaugurated housing units were part of the Mehr housing project scheme.

The Mehr housing project was introduced by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2007. It was to build around two million housing units within five years for low-income families.
