Navy acquires new, cutting-edge military equipment
TEHRAN - In a recent development, the naval forces of the Iranian Army have successfully integrated 42 new strategic defense achievements.
In a ceremony unfolded in the presence high-ranking military officials and commanders in southern port city of Bandar Abbas, Iran marked the official inclusion of these cutting-edge military advancements into its naval fleet.
The ceremonial integration witnessed the seamless inclusion of 42 defense achievements into the strategic naval forces of the Iranian Army. The extensive readiness and integration efforts encompassed eight fleets of surface and subsurface combat swimmer units, in addition to aerial fleets featuring missile-launching ships like ‘Neyzeh’ and ‘Khadang.’ Noteworthy additions included two ‘Azarakhsh’ surface and subsurface combat swimmer fleets and a rocket launcher fleet.
Additionally, the ceremony unveiled the latest equipment of the ‘Sahand’ destroyer, now featuring the first medium-range ‘Sayyad 3’ air defense system and ‘Kamand’ precision missile defense system.
Among the equipment unveiled on Wednesday were also the improved versions of the tethered drone 305, the 12-launcher ‘Sanjar’ drone, and the ‘Bavar 5’ which were added to Sahand destroyer.
The number of cruise missiles launchers for ‘Alborz’ destroyer were also increased.

Iran's Army Chief Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, who was present in the ceremony, recognied the significant progress made by the Iranian Army in the military industry during the recent years.
He expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the government, Defense Ministry, universities, and knowledge-based companies that contributed to these achievements, fostering a sense of pride among the Iranian people.
The top commander emphasized that Iran's Armed Forces are ready to protect the nation's interests, noting, “Iran's Armed Forces, with complete intelligence dominance over adversaries, are ready to defend the country's national interests at any required level.”
Furthermore, he asserted that Iran's Armed Forces will steadfastly defend Iran's soil and uphold the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.

Speaking at the event, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of Iran's Navy, praised the force's combat readiness. He highlighted that the equipping of naval units underscores Iran's ability to develop new equipment and weapons.
Expressing pride in the simultaneous protection of Iran's interests across oceans by four naval groups, Irani stated, "With divine assistance and the bolstering of the Navy's capabilities, we observe our commando units showcasing their ability to manufacture new equipment and weapons."
Underscoring the Navy's dedication to advancement, the top commander emphasized, "In international drills involving military forces from other nations, the strategic Navy of the Iranian Army is acknowledged for its expertise and significant accomplishments in international missions."
In recent years, Iranian military experts and engineers have made noteworthy breakthroughs in producing a diverse range of indigenous equipment, achieving self-sufficiency for the armed forces. Iranian officials have reaffirmed the nation's steadfast commitment to enhancing military capabilities, including missile power, for defense and deterrence purposes only.
