Iran beat Kazakhstan at 2024 Asian Age Group Championship

TEHRAN – Iran defeated Kazakhstan on penalties on Wednesday at the 2024 Asian Age Group Championship.

The match finished 9-9 in regular time and the Persians beat their opponents 3-1 in penalty shootout.

Iran, who had defeated Malaysia 34-3 and Sri Lanka 34-0 in their previous matches, will play Singapore in Group B on Thursday in their last group match.

Group A consists of Japan, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, China and Thailand.

The 11th Asian Age Group Championships include four aquatic disciplines, namely swimming, diving, water polo, and artistic swimming.

The competition is being held from Feb. 26 to March 9 at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac, the Philippines.

More than 1,000 athletes from 25 countries compete at the tournament.
