TEHRAN – Jalil Koohpayehzadeh was elected as head of Iran's Sports Federation for the Disabled for a four-year term till 2028 on Tuesday.

In the elections held at Iran’s Academy Olympic in Tehran, Koohpayehzadeh secured 33 of 57 votes cast.

Mohammadreza Mirzaei and Abbas Baghestani came second and third with three and two votes, respectively.

A total of 17 voters opted to cast an empty ballot.

Koohpayehzadeh replaced Shervin Asbaghian in the position.
