Iranian consul general to Kazan meets Amir Abdollahian
TEHRAN - In a diplomatic session with Davood Mirzakhani, serving as Iran’s consul general to Russia’s Kazan, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian placed a significant emphasis on cultivating enduring relationships with students and Iranian residents in Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan as a whole.
Stressing the strategic role of public diplomacy, Amir Abdollahian highlighted the effectiveness of such an approach in showcasing Iran’s capabilities.
In the meeting, they discussed the situation in Kazan and the most important areas of cooperation. Amir Abdollahian referred to the good history of relations between Iran and Kazan, stressing the need to expand economic cooperation and relations with the Russian Federation's Republic of Tatarstan and other republics and provinces of the Volga region and also the necessity of boosting cultural, tourism and academic cooperation.
Particular attention was directed towards the agreements resulting from the recent visit of Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, to Tehran and Isfahan. These agreements were underscored for their pivotal role in advancing regional cooperation.
The foreign minister emphasized the imperative of sustained efforts to actualize the agreements stemming from the visit, especially those involving meetings between the head of Tatarstan and high-ranking Iranian officials.
