Education Ministry: Over 5,000 Palestinian students killed since Oct. 7
The Palestinian Ministry of Education said that 5,260 Palestinian students have been killed and 8,985 injured since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7 in Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The ministry said in a statement, that the number of students who have been in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression reached to 5,213, and those who have been injured reached 8,691, while in the West Bank, 47 students were killed and 294 others were injured, in addition to 94 arrests, WAFA reported.
It indicated that 251 teachers and administrators were killed and 846 were injured in the Gaza Strip, six were injured, and more than 73 were detained in the West Bank.
Further, the ministry said that 286 public schools and 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA) were bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip, which led to 111 of them being severely damaged and 40 completely destroyed. Also, 57 schools in the West Bank were stormed and vandalized.
