Major airport development, aviation projects to go operational
TEHRAN – Iranian Transport and Urban Development Ministry has announced that 16 major airport development and aviation projects worth over €23.8 million are going to be inaugurated by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 19).
As IRNA reported, some 8.68 trillion rials (about €17.3 million) of domestic investment and €6.5 million of foreign investment has been spent to complete the mentioned projects.
The said projects are going to be mainly in the fields of terminal development, as well as purchase and installation of equipment in the country's airports.
Since the beginning of the current government administration (2021) over 37 new airplanes have been added to the country’s aviation fleet and several development projects have been carried out in the country’s airports.
The new terminal of Kish International Airport with an area of 4000 square meters and the beginning of the executive operation of phase 2 of Imam Khomeini Airport (RA) are among the major projects carried out over the past two years.
