Commander asserts Iran's sovereignty in border security measures
TEHRAN- The Iranian Army Ground Forces Commander has underscored that the assignment of duties regarding the blocking of borders cannot be dictated by external entities.
During his visit to the Iranian border with Afghanistan, Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari emphasized that border control is a fundamental measure taken by all nations to ensure security.
He highlighted the significance of the ongoing initiative to blockade the Iran-Afghanistan border, describing it as one of the nation's top priorities.
"The engineering fleet is currently executing this plan along a 74-kilometer stretch of the northeastern borders," he added.
General Heidari reiterated Iran's commitment to fostering good relations with its neighbors, emphasizing that the country has no intentions of territorial aggression.
He stressed that Iran's primary objective is to ensure stability and security within its borders, a responsibility shouldered by its Armed Forces.
Regarding the methods employed to maintain safety, General Heidari outlined various approaches, including surveillance cameras, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), and physical presence.
He emphasized that the determination of these measures lies solely within Iran's stance, rejecting any attempts by external parties to dictate terms regarding Iran's border security policies.
