Provincial section of 16th Fajr Visual Arts Festival kicks off in Tehran

TEHRAN-Rasoul Mehr Gallery of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Tehran Province hosted the opening of the 16th Fajr Visual Arts Festival of Tehran Province on Saturday.

Eye-catching works by artists such as Hossein Ehsaei, Ardeshir Ahmadinejad, Saeedeh Arian, Kambiz Hazratpour, Zohreh Hasani, Mostafa Khazaei, Mohammad Ali Saeedi, Saman Shadanlou (Ilkhan), Alireza Rouholamini, Lilan Ghasemi, and Behdad Najafi are on display until February 13, the public relations office of the department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Tehran Province reported.

This is the provincial section of the 16th Fajr Visual Arts Festival, which started last week at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA) and Saba Cultural-Artistic Institute. In addition to Tehran, the festival is held in other 30 provinces of Iran, presenting 1,539 works by 420 artists at prestigious exhibition centers across the country.

The festival showcases a variety of works in 10 categories including painting, illustration, graphic design, photography, calligraphy, cartoon and caricature, sculpture, ceramics, Persian painting, and modern artistic mediums.

The presented works include a variety of themes, techniques, and artistic approaches from realistic to abstract and conceptual, and have displayed a wide range of creativity, innovations, and new experiences.
