TEHRAN-The veteran Iranian translator of literary and historical books Maryam Bayat has passed away at the age of 80.

Nashr-e Now publishing house, which published some of her translations, announced the news on Wednesday, ISNA reported.

Her translations include “A Woman of Egypt” by Jehan Sadat, “Memories of a Geisha” by Arthur Golden, “Like Water for Chocolate” by Laura Esquivel, “Scarlette” by Alexandre Ripley, “Cosette” by Laura Kalpakian, “Small Miracles” Yitta Halbestam & Judith Leventball, “Paula” by Isabel Allende, “Emissary of Light” by James F. Twyman, “The Shell Seeker” by Rosamond Piltcher, “The Last Barrier” by Reshad Field, “Till We Meet Again” by Judith Krantz, “Medjugorje: The Message” by Wayne Weible, The “Joy Luck Club” by Amy Tan, “Mrs. de Winter” by Susan Hill, “Regards from the Dead Princess” by Kenize Mourad, “The Last Princess” by Cynthia Freeman, “Small Miracles” by Yitta Halbestam & Judith Leventball, “If Life is a Game, These Are the Rules” by Cherry Carter-Scott, and “The Ecstatic Journey: Walking the Mystical Path in Everyday Life” by Sophy Burnham.

She also translated some novels by the famous American writer Danielle Steel such as “The Full Circle”, “Kaleidoscope”, and “The Ring”.
