TEHRAN - The Ministry of Interior is set to unveil the list of qualified candidates for the upcoming Assembly of Experts election on Wednesday.

Candidates who face disqualification have a three-day window to submit objections.

As part of the election timeline, the Ministry of Interior or governorates will notify disqualified candidates on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Secretary for Iran's Election Headquarters confirmed that the names of Assembly of Experts candidates will be dispatched by the Constitutional Council tomorrow. Once received, the candidates will be promptly informed through the governorates.

Those who are disqualified can appeal the decision within a three-day period, starting from January 26 and concluding on January 28. The Constitutional Council's jurists will then reevaluate the qualifications of these candidates within 10 days and communicate the results to the Ministry of Interior.

On February 8, the finalized list of approved candidates from each province, along with the names of election candidates, will be made public.

Article 17 of the Expert Elections Law stipulates that advertisements for the election candidates will be permitted from February 14 to 28. Importantly, advertising is prohibited on February 29 and March 1.

A crucial phase in this process involves the option for candidates to withdraw, an action accepted until February 27, at least 72 hours before the commencement of voting. This is under Note 5 of Article 5 of the Assembly of Experts law.

A total of 510 candidates had initially registered for this election, with eligibility criteria including a minimum age of 40 and possessing a fourth seminary degree.
