Arasbaran Cultural Center to show Bille August’s “Night Train to Lisbon”

TEHRAN-Arasbaran Cultural Center in Tehran will show the 2013 drama “Night Train to Lisbon” directed by Bille August on Sunday.

After screening the movie at 6 p.m., it will be reviewed by the film critic Kourosh Jahed in a session at the center amphitheater, ILNA reported.

Based on the 2004 novel of the same name by Pascal Mercier, the film is about a Swiss professor of classical languages who saves the life of a woman and then abandons his teaching career and embarks on a thrilling adventure that will take him on a journey to the very heart of himself.

A production of Germany, Switzerland, and Portugal, the movie has Jeremy Irons, Lena Olin, Mélanie Laurent, Jack Huston, Martina Gedeck, Nicolau Breyner, Christopher Lee, Filipe Vargas, Charlotte Rampling, Tom Courtenay, and Adriano Luz in the cast among others.

The book, based on which the movie has been adopted, is a philosophical novel, originally published in German in 2004 and then in English in 2008. The novel became an international bestseller.

This is the 604th movie set to be shown at the Arasbaran Cultural Center, which is located on Jolfa Street, northwest of Seyed-Khandan Bridge.
