Iran's Supreme National Security Council reviews anti-terrorist operations in Pakistan
TEHRAN - Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) held two meetings on Friday morning to review the anti-terrorist operations that the Islamic Republic of Iran conducted in Pakistan.
According to an informed source, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday night conducted a successful operation against the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group in Pakistan.
The source said that this terrorist group has established military and training camps in the uninhabited areas of the deep mountains of Pakistan and the group was planning a major terrorist operation in eastern Iran.
The source stated that due to the high monitoring level and the operational capability of the responsible forces, the IRGC was able to attack the terrorist elements as soon as they began to move. The operation resulted in the destruction of a significant portion of the group's facilities, equipment, and members.
The source also addressed Pakistan's response to the operation. Contrary to media reports, the source said that there were only a few explosions at the border between the two countries.
The source added that some ordinary Pakistani citizens living in the border area were targeted in the explosions.
