Iran to retaliate slightest of enemies’ missteps, Parliament speaker warns
TEHRAN – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says Iran will answer to every misstep of enemies and the slightest harm on the country with the utmost power.
“If the enemy makes a misstep, the power of the Islamic Republic will be demonstrated with powerful missiles,” stated Ghalibaf in a ceremony that was held on Thursday.
He expressed gratitude for the operations carried out by the Islamic Revolution Guard corps (IRGC) against Daesh positions in Syria.
Late on Monday, the IRGC launched a series of ballistic missiles toward an Israeli spy center in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, while also hitting targets linked to Daesh terrorists in northern Syria.
In a statement, the IRGC said the attacks were in response to recent terrorist attacks in the southeastern cities of Kerman and Rask as well as the assassination of a senior IRGC commander in Damascus earlier this month.
“Regarding the recent terrorist incident in Kerman city of Iran, where Daesh terror group committed a heinous crime, other countries could witness the magnificence and strength of the Iranian people and government in the response given to the terrorists,” Ghalibaf commented.
He further stated that this action by the Islamic Republic not only damaged Daesh but also sent a message to all its supporters. “All powers witnessed that if the enemy makes a misstep and inflicts the slightest harm on our nation and country, slightly changing the angle of the missiles is enough for them to witness the power of Iran,” he further noted.
The senior lawmaker also talked about the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, underscoring the resilience of Palestinians in defending their country even after the passage of more than 100 days of non-stop war.
He continued that the United States and the Zionist regime, hoping that after 75 years, Palestine and its people would be forgotten, embarked on a genocidal act.
“However,” he mentioned, “nowadays, the culture of jihad and martyrdom has transformed the issue of Palestine into not just a concern for the Islamic world but a foremost issue for all humans who, regardless of their diverse backgrounds, have a sense of humanity. People worldwide now speak about Palestine and defend its people, and this is a result of the culture of jihad and martyrdom.”
