TEHRAN – Iran defeated Japan 74-65 in the 2024 IWBF Asia Oceania Zone (AOZ) Championships on Monday.

Team Melli had previously defeated South Korea 67-48 and Thailand 86-51.

Iran will play Australia and China on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

The winners of both the men’s and women’s competition will qualify directly for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The IWBF Asia Oceania Zone started on Jan. 12 in Bangkok, Thailand and will run until Jan. 20.
