TEHRAN – Iran's Deputy Police Chief General Qassem Rezaei has said that the order for the terrorist attack on the Rask police headquarters was issued from outside the country.

"In the terrorist attack that took place on the Rask police headquarters, we were facing a covert action in a way that 90% of terrorist acts are done covertly," General Rezaei said.

He added that after the attack, the immediate arrest of the terrorists was put on the agenda of the security and law enforcement forces and four of the main perpetrators of the terrorist attack were arrested through intelligence monitoring.
 
"These four perpetrators were thieves with a record and had done many illegal actions," the general noted. 

Iran's Police Chief Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan said on Sunday that Iranian security forces have apprehended and identified the four main suspects in the violent terrorist attack on Rask County's police headquarters in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan.

The terrorists were ambushed and apprehended during a counter-terrorism police operation conducted in recent days.

An assault against the police headquarters in Southeastern Iran in mid-December killed 11 police forces and injured several others. The Pakistan-based Jaish Al-Adl terror group, which has conducted several bomb attacks and kidnappings in Southeastern Iran in recent years in a bid to disrupt the country's security, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
