West making efforts to gloss over Israel’s defeat in Gaza: Iranian MP
TEHRAN – A member of Iranian Parliament has asserted that the United States and the United Kingdom, through their attacks on Yemen, are attempting to divert attention from the significant defeat of the Zionist regime in Gaza.
In an interview with Iranian media, Ali Haddadi condemned the attacks launched by the U.S. and U.K. on Yemen, highlighting that Sana’a aligns itself with the Resistance forces in the region and supports the oppressed people of Palestine who are under the occupation of the Zionist regime.
Haddadi stated that the attacks on Yemeni forces resulted from Yemen standing firm in defense of its national interests and its support of Palestinians who are being massacred on a daily basis in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The lawmaker emphasized that the United States and United Kingdom’s attacks on Yemen violate international laws, serving the interests of the Zionist regime. Haddadi pointed out the heavy responsibility of the United Nations, which, despite the attacks on Palestine and Gaza, has failed to fulfill its duties. He mentioned that the United States' influence over the United Nations has practically neutralized its role.
Haddadi concluded by emphasizing that the United States and United Kingdom aim to divert attention and downplay the severe defeat of the Zionist regime in Gaza.
Since the inception of the war in Gaza, the Israeli forces have battered the coastal enclave, forcing most of the population out of their rightful lands and imposing a strong blockade barring food, water and other supplies from getting in. Despite the Zionists’ early promise of “eradicating Hamas,” the regime has been unsuccessful in its aims, killing more than 23,000 civilians in its blind attacks on the Gaza Strip.
