TEHRAN - The latest data released by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) show that in the first 10 months of 2023, the value of the world's stock markets had an upward trend, and the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) and the Iran Fara Bourse (IFB) were among the most profitable stock exchanges in the world.

Based on the WFE data, in October 2023, the value of the TSE increased by 47.9 percent compared to October 2022, while Iran's over-the-counter market (IFB) registered a 45 percent increase in the same period, Iran’s Securities and Exchange News Agency (SENA) reported on Monday.

The statistics published by WFE show that the highest regional market value growth was 11.3 percent for the EMEA (Europe-Middle East-Africa) region, so in October 2023, the value of the stock exchanges in this region reached more than $20.5 trillion.

In the Americas region (North, Central, and South America), the value of the stock markets reached more than $49.7 trillion at the end of October 2023 with an 8.7 percent growth compared to October 2022.

Meanwhile, the Lima (Peru stock exchange) had the highest increase in market value with a 20 percent increase in market value compared to October 2022, and the Jamaican stock exchange was the biggest loser in this region with an 8.1 percent drop in value.

TSE and IFB are the major Iranian stock exchanges. The other ones are the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) and Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX).

In late 2023, Head of Iran’s Securities and Exchange Organization (SEO) Majid Eshqi said his organization’s current priority is to attract capital and direct liquidity toward constructive production.
