Exports from Maku Free Zone reach $323m in a year
TEHRAN - As announced by an official with Maku Free Trade Zone Organization, the value of exports from this zone has reached $323m from late September 2022 up to late September 2023, the free zone’s news portal reported.
According to Hamzeh Hooresi, the deputy managing director of the organization for economic and investment-making affairs, of the mentioned figure $210 million has been exported from the mainland and the rest was re-exports.
Maku is one of the seven major free zones of Iran.
The zone has 140 kilometers of border with the Azerbaijan Republic and 130 kilometers of border with Turkey.
As Maku is among the most newly established and also the largest free zones of the country, there is a high need for the creation of infrastructure in this zone.
