Army Aviation most powerful helicopter fleet in West Asia: commander
TEHRAN - The commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Aviation (IRIAA), General Yousef Ghorbani, declared that his division's helicopter fleet holds the title of the most powerful in West Asia.
Attributing this remarkable achievement to Iran's 8-year experience during the Sacred Defense era, General Ghorbani emphasized that over 800 types of helicopter parts have been meticulously crafted and successfully integrated into the fleet by the expertise of local manufacturers.
Furthermore, he highlighted the IRIAA's unwavering commitment to self-reliance, stating that from pilots to soldiers, everyone collaborates seamlessly to execute operations and maintenance tasks. This collective effort underscores Iran's determination to stand tall in the face of international sanctions.
The commander proudly asserted that the IRIAA exclusively utilizes indigenous and domestically produced weapons, developed by knowledge-based companies, universities, aviation experts, and veterans of the Army. These cutting-edge armaments have seamlessly integrated into the operational cycle.
The senior commander further revealed that the helicopter fleet possesses the most advanced weaponry of its time, including equipment that even the United States, the self-proclaimed global superpower, has only recently adopted for its helicopters.
Regarding the use of AI in the defense industry, he stated, “Artificial intelligence is one of the components we are working on and we have included it in our operational cycle.”
