Court hearing of Johan Floderus held

TEHRAN- The trial of Swedish citizen Johan Floderus was held at Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolution Court with the presence of the Swedish embassy's charge d'affaires. 

The hearing session was chaired by Judge Afshari along with the presence of judges of Branch 26, the prosecutor's representative, Johan Floderus, his lawyers, the official translator, and the charge d'affaires of the Swedish embassy.    

Referring to the first session of the court, Judge Afshari said, “ Based on the indictment issued by the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Tehran, intelligence monitoring of Iran's security forces, checking of messages, emails and monitoring of your mobile phone, your trips to many countries, your presence in the border cities of Iran, your communications and trips to the occupied territories and other existing evidence, the accusations against you are based on corruption on Earth through actions against the security of the country and the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic and cooperation with the Zionist regime.”

In the continuation of the court session, Floderus appeared in the stand and expressed his defense. 

Regarding the latest status of Floderus, Judiciary spokesman Masoud Setayeshi said, "The case is being investigated in Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolution Court, and the third hearing of Floderus's case was held on December 18."

Setayeshi added that the charges against Floderus are based on Articles 286 and 610 of the Islamic Penal Code, as well as Article 6 of the Law on Hostile Actions of the Zionist Regime against Peace and Security.

He stated that Floderus has been in temporary detention since last year.

According to Setayeshi, after the reading of the indictment and the statement of the charges, the court hearings will continue and Floderus will be given the opportunity to defend himself.
