ICCIMA forms committee to introduce pioneering construction projects
TEHRAN – In a meeting of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA)’s Construction and Technical and Engineering Services Committee the members approved the establishment of a new committee for the promotion of infrastructure and construction projects in the country, the ICCIMA portal reported.
As reported, the mentioned working group is aimed at introducing pioneering infrastructural projects to drive the country's development.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Construction and Technical and Engineering Services Committee of ICCIMA spoke about the state of infrastructure development in the country and made some comparisons with infrastructure investment projects in the countries of the region.
“Neighboring countries are making rapid strides in development, for example Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates are investing more and more in infrastructure every day, and this is not good news for us, and we are losing our relative advantages every day,” Ali Naghavi said.
According to the official, to correct this trend, the government needs the capacity, capability and participation of the country's engineering organizations.
Naghavi said the government needs to place more importance to the role of the private sector in the construction and infrastructure sector.
