TEHRAN- An art exhibition, featuring artwork and cultural heritage from 35 countries, including Iran, is currently underway at the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex's Blue Hall in Tehran.

Entitled "Humanity. Solidarity. One Planet.", the exhibition was officially inaugurated by Stefan Priesner, the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Iran, on December 7.

During the opening ceremony Priesner expressed his gratitude to all participating countries for their support in organizing the event.

"This exhibition holds a unique significance as it recalls the core principles of the United Nations enshrined in the UN Charter, a remarkable historical document," said Priesner.

"It serves as a reminder that, despite our differences, we are all part of the same humanity, which forms the basis for human rights. The exhibition also emphasizes the principle of solidarity, ensuring that no country or individual is left behind. And last but not least, it calls on us to protect this precious One and only planet that we all call our home."

In his address, Priesner highlighted the exhibition's aim to share stories from around the world with the people of Iran. " This is important because the UN is not only a forum of countries and governments, it is a confluence of peoples," he said.

Organized by the United Nations in Iran in collaboration with the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex, and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, the exhibit also showcases some selected photographs of gifts to the United Nations' Headquarters in New York.

The exhibition, which will be on display at until December 17, is one of the initiatives commemorating the UN Day in the country. Its three interconnected themes of Humanity, Solidarity, and One Planet emphasize the importance of unity and the defense of our shared planet amidst human diversity.

The participating countries in the exhibition include Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Cote D'Ivoire, Croatia, Finland, Holy See (Vatican), Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
