TEHRAN- Mohammad Mahdi Rahmati, the managing director of the Tehran Times, emphasized the significance of obtaining an accurate depiction of Iran and China through reliable sources in a recent interview with Xinhua during the fifth World Media Summit.

The summit, held in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, could provide an important platform facilitating interpersonal exchanges and mutual understanding among media outlets, Rahmati said on Sunday.

Expressing his hope for increased cooperation and exchange, Rahmati stated, "We aim to develop stronger interpersonal relations that will shape our future."

In discussing China's development, he commended the country's impressive progress achieved through its unique self-directed approach towards modernization.

During his first visit to China, Rahmati noted the popularity of sophisticated technological products such as DJI drones and Huawei phones in Iran. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness Chinese innovation firsthand on this occasion.

Identifying himself as an avid reader, Rahmati expressed his wish for greater availability of books authored by Chinese writers in Iran. He believed that this would provide the Iranian people with direct and comprehensive insights into China, furthering their understanding of the nation.

Additionally, Rahmati extended an invitation to representatives from various Chinese industries to visit Iran. He stressed that such visits would establish a fresh and new relationship between the two countries.
