Qazvin to host Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival

TEHRAN –The 2nd edition of the National Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival is set to take place in the northwestern city of Qazvin from November 29 to December 1. 

The event will showcase a number of radio, television, cinema, and written productions focusing on Iran's rich cultural heritage, IRIB reported. 

This edition of the festival will feature traditional Iranian performing arts such as Pardeh-Khani, Shabih-Khani, and Naqqali as additional sections.

Moreover, the festival will provide a platform for university books and theses related to the subject matter to compete in a dedicated category.

The historical wonders of Qazvin, including the caravanserai of Sa'd al-Saltaneh, the Chehel Sotun Palace, and the Sardar Ab-Anbar (cistern), have been prepared to serve as the venues for the performances by the selected artists during the event.

The dramatic arts section of the festival includes a lineup of documentaries, short films, and animations, which will be screened at the city’s Bahman Cinema throughout the three days of the festival. 

The festival has handpicked some films to be featured, such as "Ragbarg" by Sajjad Amir-Yazdani, "Arghavan" by Faramarz Hadi, "Imo" by Hashem Moradi, and "Migrants" by Masoud Ahmadi. 

Furthermore, notable TV series including "Jeiran" by Hassan Fat’hi, "Khatun" by Tina Pakravan, "Fire and Wind" by Mojtaba Raei, and "Sedato" by Hamed Javadzadeh will also be competing at the festival.

A variety of exhibitions and workshops will also be organized on the sidelines of the event.

The winners of the festival in each category will be announced on Friday.
