TEHRAN - Iran Power Plant Repairs Company (IPRC) has managed to achieve the knowledge for the domestic production of more than 6,300 power plant parts and equipment in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-November 21), the company’s managing director said.

According to Masoud Moradi, the production of the mentioned parts has saved the country over €2.6 million, IRNA reported.

“Today, specialized repairs in the power plant industry using the modern science and knowledge of equipment manufacturing is the most important necessity to completely solve the concerns of this industry,” Moradi said.

Although meeting the needs of the electricity industry is the most important priority of this company, but due to the many commonalities of this industry with practical and important equipment in productive industries such as oil, gas, and petrochemicals, entering the market of the country's mother industries is also one of the current plans of IPRC, the official said.

Meeting technical and engineering needs and building sensitive petrochemical parts in the Khorasan Petrochemical Complex, as well as, Mobin Assaluyeh and Abadan refineries, in addition to repair activities, has been one of the successful actions of this company in the last year, he added.

Earlier this year, Deputy Energy Minister Homayoun Haeri had said that most of the power plant parts are made domestically and few imports are done because some parts are more efficient to be imported than produced.

“More than 95 percent of the parts are produced inside the country and we are known as a self-sufficient and high-level country in this industry,” Haeri told IRNA.
