TEHRAN – Iran overpowered Iraq in straight sets (25-12, 25-14, 25-13) on Wednesday to book a place in the 2023 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Cup semifinals.

Team Melli had defeated Japan 3-0 and Algeria 3-0 in Group B.

Iran will play the winners of Ukraine and China on Thursday.

The World Cup is a Paris 2024 Paralympic qualifier, where one berth per gender is available for the winners or the highest placed non-qualified team of the tournament.

France (hosts), Iran, and Brazil have previously booked their place in the Paralympics.
