TEHRAN – Iran defeated Australia 2-0 in the final match of the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football (IFCPF) Asia Oceania Championships on Saturday.

In the match held at the Home of the Matildas in Melbourne, Moslem Mehrabian, and Abbas Torabi scored a goal each.

Earlier in the day, Japan defeated Thailand 3-0 in the bronze-medal match.

At the end of the tournament Ura Tatsuhiro of Japan was awarded as top scorer, Iran’s Vahid Navvab was chosen as the best keeper, and Thailand’s Nimitr Kaisakaew was awarded the Most Valuable Player.

Iran had defeated Japan (3-0), Australia (3-1), Thailand (5-0) and India (6-0).
