Zeighaminejad claims second gold medal: 2022 Asian Para Games
HANGZHOU, China – Iranian swimmer Sina Zeighaminejad won a gold medal in the Men's 50m Freestyle - S10 Final of the 2022 Asian Para Games on Monday.
He won the gold with a time of 25.74 seconds.
His countryman Izadyar took the silver with 25.87 and the bronze medal went to Akito Minai of Japan with 25.98.
Mohammadhossein Karimi also won a silver in the Men’s 100 meters Backstroke.
The Iranian swimmer came second with a time of 1:09.95 and gold medal went to Indonesian Rifky Yavianda with 1:03.55. Kazakhstan’s Roman Potapov won the bronze with 1:10.25.
Zeighaminejad and Izadyar had won a gold and a silver medal in the Men's 100m Breaststroke - SB9 Monday noon.
A total of 128 male athletes represent Iran in 16 events and 82 female athletes compete in 11 events.
Iran finished in third place in the 2018 Asian Para Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Iran’s slogan in the 2022 Asian Para Games is “Faith, Iran, Honor” and the name of the delegation is “Children of Iran”.
Hangzhou 2022 takes place from Oct. 22 to 28. An estimated 3,000 athletes compete across 22 sports.
