TEHRAN – Iran’s men’s kabaddi team advanced to the final match of the 2022 Asian games on Friday.

Team Melli defeated Chinese Taipei 47-24 in the semifinal.

Earlier in the day, India had defeated Pakistan 61-14 in another semifinal.

Defending champions Iran will play India in the final on Saturday.

With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
