Opportunity for Tajiks to get familiar with Persian literature at 11th Kitobi Dushanbe
TEHRAN-Iran has attended the 11th Dushanbe International Book Exhibition “Kitobi Dushanbe 2023” (The Book of Dushanbe), which kicked off Tuesday in the Tajikistan capital city.
While visiting the Iran pavilion, Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan appreciated Iran’s presence at the fair and said: “Visitors to the exhibition can get familiar with the modern and ancient Persian literature, Iran's publishing industry, and the Iranian poets and writers at the Iran pavilion”.
Tajikistan was the guest of honor at the 34th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) in May. Referring to this, Davlat Safarzoda said: “I thank the Iranians for their hospitality during the TIBF. We are trying to reflect Iran's programs in the 11th Book Exhibition in various media and also invite university and high school student of our country to the Iran pavilion at the fair to get acquainted with the books presented here,” IRNA reported him as saying.
During the 34th TIBF, Tajikistan organized several review sessions and book launch events. In addition, groups of experts were invited at the Tajikistan pavilion and discussed the current status of literature in Tajikistan and a whole new perspective on cultural relations between Iran and the country.
A new Tajik dictionary was also unveiled and Iranian and Tajik literati organized a poetry night during the book fair.
Also visiting Iran pavilion at the Dushanbe International Book Exhibition, Russian ambassador to Tajikistan expressed his interest in getting to know the literature and publishing industry of Iran.
“The literature of resistance is common between Iran and Russia and we can cooperate in various programs related to history, culture and folklore literature,” Semyon Grigoriyev said.
Iran Book and Literature House represents Iran’s publishing industry at the fair, presenting over 800 titles on various subjects of classic and contemporary literature including poetry and novels, and titles related to the holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).
The international book exhibition presents books of 50 publications from Tajikistan and eight other countries. Russia in the guest of honor at this year’s edition of the fair that will wrap up Thursday.
The books on display at the exhibition are on a variety of topics of culture, medicine, children’s literature, textbooks, cooking, and so forth.
