Iranian films honored at Tripoli Film Festival

TEHRAN – Two Iranian films have been awarded at the 10th edition of the Tripoli Film Festival in Lebanon. 

“The Town” by Ali Hazrati received the Jury Special Award, while “48 Hours” by Azadeh Mousavi won the Best Short Film Award.

“The Town” narrates the story of Navid Falahati, a young man interested in acting, who is accepted in the audition for a movie. In order to join the movie, he must accept some special conditions and performs mental and psychological exercises for his role in an isolated town.

Sa’ed Sohaili, Kazem Sayyahi, Mahtab Servati, Homayoun Ershadi, Roya Javaidnia, Shahrokh Forutanian, Morteza Zarrabi, and Saqi Hajipour are the cast of the film.

Starring Baran Kosari and Reza Akhlaqi, “48 Hours” tells the story of Nader, who is given a furlough to go home after three years in prison. He has 48 hours to become a father to his four-year-old daughter

The Tripoli Film Festival was held from September 21 to 29 with the goal of showcasing Tripoli's rich cultural heritage and promoting local artists. The festival also aims to establish the city as an international platform for distinguished filmmakers from around the world.
