TEHRAN- Iran exported 90,000 tons of eggs to the target countries in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 21), Hamidreza Kashani, the chairman of Producers of Egg-Laying Hens Union, announced.

According to Kashani this has been the highest level of eggs export over the past 44 years, IRIB reported.

The official said the figure has exceeded the last year’s total export which was 55,000 tons.

Iran has the capacity to produce 1.6 million tons of eggs annually.

Iranian eggs are mainly exported to neighboring countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar.
