Iran, Saudi Arabia handball teams share the spoils at Hangzhou

TEHRAN – Iran and Saudi Arabia handball teams shared the spoils in a 23-23 in Group D of the 2022 Asian Games on Wednesday.

Team Melli secured their place in the Main Round.

Iran beat Mongolia 50-16 in their opening match but lost to Japan 33-21 and finished the group as the second-place team.

Iran handball team won a bronze medal in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha and claimed the silver four years later in Guangzhou.

With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the 2022 Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
