Export of agricultural products up 10% in 5 months on year
TEHRAN – The value of Iran’s exports of agricultural products increased by 10.14 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), according to the data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Based on the IRICA data, Iranian farmers managed to export 2.169 million tons of the mentioned products valued at $1.062 billion, registering a 7.7 percent decline in terms of weight, IRNA reported.
As reported, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Russia were the top importers of Iranian agricultural products in the said five months.
During this period, Iran also imported 7.749 million tons of agricultural products worth $4.346 billion, which shows a decrease of 6.17 percent in terms of weight and 19.34 percent in terms of value.
