TEHRAN – Iranian freestyle wrestler Hassan Yazdani is not going to retire from the sport.

It was rumored that Yazdani will say goodbye to the sport after the 2024 Olympic Games.

A source close to the wrestler said Yazdani will continue until 2028 Olympic Games.

Yazdani has won a gold medal in the 2016 Olympic Games and claimed a silver in the 2020 Olympics.

The 29-year-old athlete has also won three gold medals in 2017, 2019 and 2021 World Championships.

Yazdani has recently lost to American wrestler David Taylor in the 86kg weight class of the 2023 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
