TEHRAN – Iran overpowered Thailand 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-16) on Friday in the 2022 Asian Games.

Mohammad Mousavi and Amirhossein Esfandiar scored 11 points each, while Napadet Bhinijdee collected 16 points for Thailand.

Iran had previously defeated Nepal and Bahrain in the Games.

Iran, who were denied a third consecutive continental championship by Japan in late August, are the Games’ defending champions.

The Asian Games in Hangzhou was due to take place in 2022 but postponed to 2023.
