TEHRAN- Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Defense Minister, visited Tehran on Tuesday afternoon to strengthen military ties with Iran and make better coordination between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.

The Russian defense minister was warmly received by Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. They discussed improving defense diplomacy, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and confronting common dangers, including international terrorism.

During his stay in Tehran, Shoigu is scheduled to hold talks with the senior commanders of Iran’s Armed Forces.

Shoigu visited Iran following a formal invitation from Major General Baqeri in June.
