Iranians win four more medals at Wuxi 2022 Grand Slam Champions Series
TEHRAN – Iranian taekwondo athletes claimed four more medals on final day of Open Qualification Tournament for Wuxi 2022 Grand Slam Champions Series on Friday.
In the women’s -57kg Luana Marton from Hungary won gold as she beat Iran’s Nahid Kiani 2:1 in the final.
The bronze medal was won by China’s Wenjing Gu as she overcame Tina Modanlou from Iran 2:0.
In the men’s -58kg, Woo-hyeok Jung of Korea brought gold as he beat Iran’s Mahdi Hajimousaei 2:0. China added to its bronze medal tally as Kai Cheng won by withdrawal.
The last final was settled by a withdrawal as Iran's Amirmohammad Bakhshi won gold in the men’s -80kg. Mehran Barkhordari of Iran won silver and Geon-Woo Seo of Korea won bronze.
On Thursday, Iran’s Reza Kalhor and Danial Bozorgi won a gold and a silver in the men’s -68kg, respectively.
Saeideh Nasiri seized a silver in the women’s -49kg, while Abolfazl Abbasi Pouya in the men’s heavyweight +80kg won a bronze.
