As reported, some 456 domestic companies along with 60 foreign exhibitors are participating in this four-day exhibition.
Holding several seminars and specialized panels, concluding export contracts, and hosting several foreign delegations are among the programs scheduled for the duration of this year’s exhibition.
In this exhibition, a variety of home appliances such as cooling and heating products, audio and video products, kitchen appliances, utensils and dishes, gas stoves and grills, barbecue and fryers, vacuum cleaners, irons, juicers, meat grinders, tea makers, and sewing machines are being showcased.
Home appliance production rises 34%
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Fatemi-Amin said the production of home appliances in the country has increased by 34 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21).
According to the official, the export of home appliances has also increased by 27 percent in the current year as compared to the previous year.
Optimization and efficiency in the field of household appliances has increased by more than 83 percent, the minister said.
“Joint investment with neighboring countries in the home appliances sector is also on the agenda, and a joint program will be implemented in this regard,” Fatemi-Amin added.
Over the past few years, the Iranian government has been following a new strategy for supporting domestic production to neutralize the impacts of the U.S. sanctions while reducing the reliance of the economy on oil revenues.
The home appliances sector has been one of the pioneers in this regard and like many other areas, the production of home appliances has witnessed a significant rise in the past two years so that this industry’s production capacity increased by 24 percent in the past Iranian year, and by 10 percent in its preceding year.
