Iran, Qatar FMs exchange views over phone
TEHRAN - On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian and his Qatari Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani spoke over the phone on a variety of topics, including their respective countries' relations.
The two spoke on the successful staging of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as well as recent advancements in relationship between Tehran and Doha.
Amir Abdollahian wished Qatar success in holding the World Cup and conveyed wishes from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the Emir of Qatar. He also praised Qatar for its aid in facilitating the attendance of Team Melli and other sports fans at the matches.
The Emir of Qatar also sent wishes to senior Iranian leaders through the Qatari foreign minister. Further hailing Team Melli for its success on the field, he also commended Iran for its active collaboration and support of Doha throughout the matches.
Regardless of the results of the games, he appreciated Team Melli's performance.
Then, the two foreign ministers sent their best wishes to the members of the Iranian and Qatari national teams.
