‘Did your Max Sanx excluded Iranian women and mothers’ from sanctions? Iran sarcastically asks Biden

TEHRAN - Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman on Thursday lashed out at a claim by President Joe Biden that the U.S. is "standing with" Iranian women, derisively asking Biden “did your Max Sanx excluded Iranian women and mothers” from “economic terrorism” under Washington’s “maximum pressure” campaign against the entire Iranian people.

Nasser Kanani made the remark in a post on his Twitter account after Biden claimed in an official statement that his administration supports Iranian women and their human rights demands amid foreign-backed riots in certain cities across the country.

In the statement, which was issued on the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Biden said, “We stand with the women of Iran, who are facing down violence and oppression to demand their human rights and fundamental freedoms.”

Responding to Biden’s claim, Kanaani underlined the United Sates’ more than four decades of sanctions against Iran.

Washington's bans even included the import of medicine for Iranian butterfly patients suffering from epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a disease that causes fragile, blistering skin.

According to Press TV, Kanani said Biden’s claim of support for Iranian women comes as Washington has “left no stone unturned in showing enmity and cruelty” toward the people of Iran and “had no mercy in imposing economic terrorism even against Butterfly kids.”

“President of a regime that for +40yrs has left no stone unturned in showing enmity and cruelty toward Iranian nation and had no mercy in imposing ‘Economic Terrorism’ even against Butterfly kids, claims to stand with women of Iran,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman tweeted, adding, “If so, did your Max Sanx excluded Iranian women and mothers?”

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic that the Trump administration was even refusing to relax export of medicine and medical equipment to Iran, former Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said in September 2019 that U.S. economic terrorism has been supplanted by “medical terrorism”.

“Escalating US economic WAR on Iranians, @realDonaldTrump ordered SoT ‘to substantially increase sanctions against the COUNTRY of Iran! ?It’s admission that US is DELIBERATELY targeting ordinary citizens: ?#EconomicTerrorism, illegal & inhuman. Stop war & terror. #Security4All,” Zarif tweeted at the time.
