TEHRAN – Iran iconic midfielder Vahid Amiri says that they are ready to make history in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Iran will open the campaign on Monday with a match against England in Group B.

Team Melli will also play Wales and the U.S. on Nov. 25 and 29, respectively.

“Our goal is to register the best results in Qatar. We want to make history, that’s why we are here,” Amiri said.

“We could have qualified for the next stage in the 2018 FIFA World Cup but narrowly missed out on the knockout stages,” he added.

Iran have every chance of causing a few headaches once more in Qatar and Amiri said that they want to show their best against England.

“We know that how strong England are but we want to do our best in the match as well,” Amiri concluded.
