Unrest martyrs laid to rest
TEHRAN – Funeral services were held on Saturday for several security forces who were martyred in line of duty during last weekend's riots across the country.
Thousands of people in Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan province, took part in the funeral held for Colonel Hassan Yousefi who was martyred during the unrest in the city.
Mourners chanted slogans in Persian and Kurdish and demanded an end to appeasing rioters, according to Mehr News.
Colonel Yousefi was stabbed to death on Thursday in Sanandaj.
In Shiraz, a similar funeral was held for cleric who was martyred by rioters in Ma’ali Abad neighborhood. The cleric, Mohammad Mo’ayedi, was hit in the head by a Molotov cocktail on Tuesday.
Another funeral was held for a martyr in Salmas (West Azarbaijan Province). Rahim Sahabi, a member of security forces, was martyred in Boukan (West Azarbaijan) on Thursday.
