Iran fall short against China at FIBA World Cup 2023 qualifier

TEHRAN – Iran suffered a home 81-72 loss against China at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 from the Asian Qualifiers on Friday.
Iran’s Behnam Yakhchali scored 24 points in the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Hall.
Zhelin Wang led China in scoring with 23 points on 10-16 shooting, he also had 7 rebounds and 3 steals while also bothering Haddadi as much as possible on defense.
The victory clinches China’s spot at the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, making them the third team to do so after Lebanon and New Zealand in Window 4.
