Heads of govt. branches approve resolution to remove bans on imports from Eurasia
TEHRAN - The heads of the three branches of the Iranian government have approved a resolution to remove the restrictions on imports from the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The announcement about the mentioned resolution was made in a business meeting between the private sectors of Iran and Russia on October 26, the portal of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) reported on Saturday.
Hosted by TCCIMA, the said Iran-Russia business forum was attended by private sector representatives and officials from the two sides, including Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Alireza Peyman-Pak, and Russian Trade Representative in Iran Rustam Zhiganshin.
Speaking in this gathering, Peyman-Pak emphasized that the establishment of a free trade agreement between Iran and EAEU will ensure a bright future for trade in this region, saying: “The list of commodity items that are going to be included in the free trade agreement has been almost determined and it has been decided that 90 percent of the tariffs [on these commodities] will be reduced to zero.”
