TEHRAN – Iran sitting volleyball head coach Hadi Rezaei says that they are ready to participate in the 2022 Sitting Volleyball World Championships.

The world’s most-decorated sitting volleyball team are determined to win the title for the eighth time.

Rezaei shared his thoughts on what measures would be necessary to take his team to the podium of the prestigious event.

Team Melli prepare for the 13th edition of the World Para Volleyball Championship which will be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The men’s and women’s teams will be competing for the world titles in Sarajevo from Nov. 4 to 11.

“Our team are ready despite failing to hold warm-up matches ahead of the world championships, but it’s normal and we are not disappointed. We will travel to Sarajevo to do our best,” Rezaei said in an exclusive interview with Tehran Times.

Bosnia, three-time world champions, are going to take full advantage of their position as the hosts.

Bosnia coach Ifet Mahmutovic has said they should do their best to please their nation since they are playing in their country. Rezaei also said they are waiting for them in the final.

“Iran want to win the title, that’s why we will participate in the competition. We hope Bosnia can reach the final to play us, since they have tough opponents ahead on their way to the final. Definitely, the best team will win the title,” he added.

“After the 2020 Paralympics, we continued our preparation and are fully prepared for the world championships,” Rezaei concluded.
