Iran invites Poland to open trade center in Tehran
TEHRAN – In a meeting between Head of Iran's Planning and Budget Organization (PBO) Masoud Mirkazemi and Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski on Sunday, the Iranian side invited Poland to open a trade center in Tehran.
During the meeting the two sides also discussed launching a direct flight between Tehran and Warsaw by the end of 2022, ISNA reported.
Referring to the establishment of Iran's trade center by the private sector in Poland, Mirkazemi, who is the head of the Iran-Poland Joint Economic Committee, invited the authorities and the private sector of this country to set up a trade center in Tehran.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the level of trade between the two countries, saying: “Both countries have high capacities, but the level of economic relations is not at all commensurate with this capacity; a lot of effort is required to increase trade exchanges.”
Pointing to the importance of creating infrastructure for the development of relations between the two countries, he added: “Establishing a direct flight between Tehran and Warsaw is one of the necessities.”
“Iran is ready to cooperate with Poland in the fields of energy, agriculture, industry, mining, marine economy, export of knowledge-based products and development of tourism industry,” the official said, referring to the recent negotiations with the minister of foreign affairs of Poland.
He further underlined the importance of holding a joint economic committee meeting between the two countries, and emphasized: “The officials of the two countries should work actively to solve the problems of their private sectors to increase trade between the two countries.”
Jablonski for his part called for the increase of economic relations between the two countries. saying: “This year, several economic delegations from Poland have come to Iran, but this process should be accelerated.”
Referring to Warsaw's efforts to establish a direct airline between the two countries, he said: "One of the important and well-known airline companies is obtaining permission and coordination with the Iranian authorities, and we hope that these flights will be opened before 2023."
Referring to Iran's capabilities in various sectors, Poland's deputy foreign minister called for increasing cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, and taxes.
